California Alliance Members Shine: Member Organizations Secure Grants for Youth Mental Health Services
Sacramento, CA – The California Alliance of Child and Family Services proudly announces that seventeen of its member organizations have been awarded grant funds totaling more than $12 million as part of an initiative by the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) in collaboration with the Mental Health Services Oversight and Accountability Commission (MHSOAC). These grants are aimed at expanding early intervention programs and practices that provide crucial mental health and wellness services to children, youth, and young adults across California.
As part of Governor Gavin Newsom’s Master Plan for Kids’ Mental Health, the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS), in partnership with the Mental Health Services Oversight and Accountability Commission (MHSOAC), awarded $67 million to 99 organizations, across 30 counties, to expand early intervention programs and practices that provide mental health and wellness services to children, youth, and young adults in California. This initiative is part of the Children and Youth Behavioral Health Initiative (CYBHI) Evidence-based Practices and Community-defined Evidence Practices (EBP/CDEP) Grant Program.
The awarded grants will enable our member organizations to enhance and expand their existing programs, reaching more children, youth, and young adults in need of vital mental health services. These funds will empower these organizations to develop innovative approaches, increase access to care, and ultimately improve outcomes for California's most vulnerable populations.
