CA Alliance Committees

 

FFA/Adoption Committees 

Staff: Elizabeth Oseguera, Purva Bhattacharjee, and Rhonda Young

Meeting Dates: Every 2nd Friday of every month from 12-1 p.m., and 1-1:30 p.m. for FFAs in LA 

The FFA and Adoption Committees focus on all topics related to the work FFAs and Adoption Agencies are involved in including community care licensing, family finding, Guardian, rate advocacy, PAARP, and more. Behavioral Health Committee 

Staff: Selena Liu-RaphaelDixie Samaniego, and Rhonda Young 

Meeting Date: Every 2nd Wednesday from 4-5 p.m. 

The Behavioral Health Committee focuses on topics related to programming, services, best practices, funding, and policy updates and advocacy related to mental health, substance use disorder (SUD) treatment, and integrated service delivery. Staff: Adrienne Shilton, Kat Besse, and Cinnamon McCellen

Meeting Date: Every 4th Monday from 11 a.m.-12 p.m. 

The Education Committee focuses on topics related to education including nonpublic schools, special education, school-based mental health, community schools and more. If members would like to join this committee, please do so on your member Glue Up account!  

Insurance Committee 

Staff: Selena Liu-Raphael and Dixie Samaniego

Meeting Dates: Thursday, January 25, 2024, Thursday, April 25, 2024, Thursday, July 25, 2024, Thursday, December 19, 2024, from 4-5 p.m. 

The Insurance Committee focuses on advocacy with the Department of Managed Health Care and Department of Insurance, commercial insurance plans, Medi-Cal managed care plans, and assisting members in their service line expansion. The Insurance Committee also leads on policy proposals related to behavioral health parity and access. If members would like to join this committee, please do so on your member Glue Up account! 

 

​​​Juvenile Justice Committee 

Staff: Annie Thomas and Dixie Samaniego

Meeting Date: Every 2nd Tuesday from 2-3 p.m. 

The Juvenile Justice Committee focuses on all topics related to justice-involved youth including interventions and programs (residential and non-residential), evidence-based practices specific to justice-involved youth, and more. ​​Prevention Services Committee

Meeting Date: Every 2nd Tuesday from 2-3 p.m.   

The Prevention Services Committee focuses on topics related to primary, secondary, and tertiary prevention, including family resource centers and other family-strengthening programs, and more. If members would like to join this committee, please do so on your member Glue Up account! 

 

Residential Care Committee 

Staff: Elizabeth Oseguera, Annie Thomas, Dixie Samaniego, Misty Berard, and Ariana Gonzalez

Meeting Date: Every 2nd Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. 

The Residential Care Committee focuses on topics related to residential care including STRTPs, IMD compliance, background checks, and more. If members would like to join this committee, please do so on your member Glue Up account! 

TAY Services Committee 

Staff: Purva Bhattacharjee and Cinnamon McCellen

Meeting Date: Every 1st Tuesday from 2-3 p.m. 

The TAY Committee focuses on topics related to the TAY population including programs and services and share best practices and concerns related to housing, independent living programs, funding, and more. CEO/ED Meeting 

Facilitator: CA Alliance CEO, Chris Stoner-Mertz

Meeting Date: Every 3rd Friday from 9:30-11 a.m.

The CEO/ED meeting is the place where member CEO/Eds come together to network, make connections, hear updates directly from state and other stakeholders, and share best practices in a confidential forum.

HR and CFO Directors Workgroup 

Facilitator: VP of Operations, Kim Janoe

Meeting Date: Every 3rd Thursday from 9-10 a.m. 

HR and CFO directors are responsible for creating and/or monitoring policies and procedures within their organizations. This group meets monthly to share best practices, hear from financial and human resource experts, and network.  

 

 

Evolving CEO Group  

Facilitators: CA Alliance CEO, Chris Stoner-Mertz and VP of Public Policy, Adrienne Shilton 

Meeting Date: Every 1st Thursday from 3-4 p.m.  

The CEO/ED’s job is as difficult as it is important, therefore, we have created a group for CEO/EDs new to their job and/or field. This group offers a supportive environment that offers presentations, networking, and opportunities to share best practices. “Seasoned” CEOs are also welcome at this forum!  

Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB) Committee 

Facilitator: VP of Programs, Impact and Evaluation, Cornelle Jenkins

Staff: Cinnamon McCellen

Meeting Date: Every 4th Wednesday from 12-2 p.m. 

The group will also be exploring training opportunities to increase the group’s collective knowledge and share those learnings across the membership to further the Alliance’s collective journey to being a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive organization. 

 

 

Medication Management Workgroup 

Staff: Rhonda Young

Meeting Date: Quarterly, from 12:30-1:30 p.m. 

This workgroup is for members to discuss shared concerns, best practices and solutions, and regulatory issues and support and learn from each other around medication management. The target audience for this workgroup are medical directors, MFTs, managers overseeing staff that provide medication support, or any staff members believe could benefit from being a part of the learning community. Payment Reform and Documentation Workgroup 

Staff: Adrienne Shilton and Selena Liu-Raphael

Meeting Date: Every 4th Monday from 10 -11 a.m.

This workgroup meets monthly and is for members to discuss concerns, questions, best practices, solutions, and strategy to our payment reform and documentation advocacy efforts. The target audience for this workgroup includes CEOs, policy staff, and any staff involved with payment reform and documentation with the counties.
